I went to London for the week to catch up with my mate, we watched tons of films on Netflix, as a good gesture he let me use his account when I got back home,
On Netflix they have many cartoons and tons of series, I started to watch all the 2d animation on there, just to come up with ideas, I also put all my drawings up around my room.
The animation series Adventure time was the one I watched the most, I love the way the animation is simple yet very enjoyable to watch, I believe I enjoyed watching it so much for a number of reasons, for example, there are many nice colours, tons of creatures, you basically do not know what will happen next. This is something I want people to feel when watching my animation. I also want people to be wanting more, my only regret is not thinking of this before.
At this point in time I needed to get my act together so i decided to try and create a short 20 second intro animation that takes you on a mini adventure. I did not know how to do this, but I knew what I wanted to draw. I watched the title sequence to Adventure Time again and again, just to try and workout how they did it, I noticed that when the next object/scene comes in, they show a bit of it the same frame as the previous. I used flash to try and replicate this Below are snapshots of my go at trying to do this. I believe it came out well and has helped me think about how I want to create my animation. Below are photos of the outcome, you can see how I have used it for inspiration
Look to the left of the photo, you can see the shot thats about to come in.
